This festival is so popular over the years that people rejoice these blissful days by bursting different fire crackers during the four day course of this festival
It is considered to be a happy and auspicious moment for many and hence the bursting of fire crackers
Seldom are people aware that for sheer 4 days of happiness people are polluting the cities like never before
In earlier decades due to lower population and less popularity for fire crackers, the pollution levels were never alarming
Considering today's population and the invent of many innovative fire crackers, the pollution level has reached to an extremely higher level
Fire crackers are responsible in releasing harmful gases in environment in a span of these four to five days of celebrations, they thrive in the form of smog for even more days post the festival
The amount of sulpher nitrates, mangnesium , hydrogen dioxide, carbon dioxide increases and can be injurious to our resporatory passages.
Diwali can be fatal to asthmatic Patients
Unfortunately the popularity of burning fire crackers is at its peak and hence needless to say so is the pollution level increasing on year on year basis
There can be ways to celebrate Diwali other than bursting of fire crackers
People should switch to eco friendly Diwali looking at these alarming pollution numbers every year
Environment benefits and health effects of bursting crackers should be provided at primary level of school education so that atleast the Next Gen understands the importance of clean and green Enviroment.
